- Description
- JPEO-CBRNDs JPM CBRN Special Operations Forces (SOF) Do you have a capability that enables Next Generation Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) Development? The Joint Project Manager for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Special Operations Forces (JPM CBRN SOF), within the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) acquires and equips Special Operations and Special Purpose Forces with critical CBRN defense equipment necessary for mission success. Their focus is to further develop crucial technologies necessary for survival and unimpeded operations in denied CBRN environments. These technologies are transitioned to other Programs of Record as appropriate to enhance the capability of the Joint Force. If you have a relevant capability or technology capable of meeting the requirements below, please respond this this RFI. ? Key Performance Parameters PAPR must provide a minimum assigned protection factor (APF) of 10,000. PAPR must be compatible with the M53 protective mask. PAPR must be capable of providing air flow greater than 4 cubic feet per minute (CFM) / 120 liters per minute (LPM). PAPR must maintain respiratory protection in the event of power loss. ? Key System Attributes PAPR must provide both automatic response to breathing level and user-adjustable air flow settings (e.g., high, low). PAPR power source must provide a minimum of [T] = 8 hours and {O} = 16 hours uninterrupted power. PAPR system to include PAPR, hose, power source, filters, and mounting system must weigh no more than [T] = 4.0 lbs. and {O} = 2.0 lbs. PAPR must be compatible with combat helmet, body armor, vision/electrooptic devices, sighting equipment, CB personal protective equipment, load bearing equipment, and communications equipment. PAPR should provide remote on/off capability located at the mask face piece. PAPR should provide for power source replacement in a contaminated environment without compromising respiratory protection. PAPR motor must not produce hazardous particulates to the user. ? Additional Performance Attributes PAPR must be low profile, not to impede user movement in confined spaces. PAPR should provide multiple wear/mounting options for the user. Please respond to this RFI, with the following details of your systems capability: White papers, concept briefs, and technical insights that detail the design feasibility, integration paths, operational readiness, and sustainment strategies for such a system. Solutions that show adaptability to modular PPE environments and acknowledge future integration are encouraged. Ideal responses will include: Technical description of proposed approach, summary of relevant experience or past performance, estimated production timelines and scalability, identified sustainment considerations, potential cost drivers and risk factors. Please visit the JETT page, respond to an RFI, and share your capability with us. https://jacks.jpeocbrnd.army.mil/JETT
