- Description
- RFQ# 36C26225Q1459 QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS You have provided the quantities for 2026 maintenance activities for 5-year/6-year/10-year/12-year which is a great start to be able to quote these services for the base year. How should we quote these services for each option year as the quantities of these services will be different each year? Will a contract modification be provided after the base year once we know how many of each type of extinguisher will require maintenance in the subsequent contract years? Or should we price the same quantity as provided for 2026 in each contract year? The above comment captures these 2 questions. ANSWER: Each year the vendor will conduct 5/6 year internal inspections on approximately 48 extinguishers of varying sizes and compositions, except for the 2.5 lb. Vendor will also conduct 10/12 year hydrostatic test inspections on approximately 48 extinguishers of varying sizes and compositions. State level certification, what is required as. The State of Arizona doesn t have a specific license or certification for fire extinguisher inspections other than holding a C-16 license. Will the C-16 license satisfy the state licensing requirement or is there something additional needed? ANSWER: There is no requirement to be certified to inspect fire extinguishers. There is a TMS training (VA 9023 NFPA 10 Certification Training) for those who wish to learn internally. On page 2 of the combined synopsis and solicitation it states, The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 22 is seeking a contractor to perform annual and monthly inspection and maintenance on fire extinguishers at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System. However, on page 3, paragraph a under the quantities table, the 2nd to last sentence states monthly inspections (performed by VA Staff). . Can you please clarify if the contractor is required to perform monthly inspections in addition to the annual inspections? ANSWER: That is a mistake, only annual inspections are required. The Price/Cost Schedule does not have a line item specific to the monthly inspections. If monthly inspections are required, are we to include monthly and annual inspections all together in line item x001? Or will there be a revised Price/Cost Schedule to include a separate line item for monthly inspections? ANSWER: No monthly inspections are required.
