- Description
- Please See Attached for Solicitation Details Amendment updates SOW to clarify Missouri River river mile 52.8. Q&A: Q1. Is a gradation test required prior to shipping material? A1. No Q2. No geological requirements are associated with the stone, what are the requirements in order to be considered durable stone. For instance, freeze thaw requirements, specific gravity? A2. Bulk specific gravity saturated surface-dry basis, method ASTM C 127 - not less than 2.40. Soundness in freezing and thawing method for ledge stone, Method CRD-C 144-92 loss at 20 cycles - not more than 25 percent for at least 50 percent of the face height to be quarried. Q3. Please specify what are acceptable methods for loading material on the Government Owned barges. Will the government provide a ramp barge so trucks can dump directly onto the barge, does the contractor need to transload with a material handler or equivalent. A3. A government furnished loading dock will be available for loading. The trucks or loading equipment will enter on to the dock barge and dump the rock onto the material barges. If the vendor does not already have an established and suitable loading facility on the Missouri River then they will need to provide the land. Does contractor supplying material need to have a CQM credentialed staff submitted for this project. A4. No Q5. Is the contractor responsible for identifying the load out near 52.8? If so, what is the acceptable range for being considered nearest? A5. If the vendor does not already have an established and suitable loading facility on the Missouri River then they will need to provide the land. The location of the land must allow for the necessary draft, room for ingress and egress of tow boats and material barges, and bank height suitable to lower the loading ramp onto. The range is determined by the loading facility's location which is determined by the vendor. Q6. Is this a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 212319? A6. Yes.
