The work shall consist of the widening, deepening, and stabilizing of
the existing channel. The average excavated depth of the channel will
be 15 feet. Approximately 23,420 cubic yards of rock riprap will be
placed over the soil material on the 2 to 1 side slopes. The riprap
will be placed on the channel sides and bottom. The channel bottom will
be enlarged to a bottom width of 50 feet. The channel side slopes will
be 2:1. One section of the channel will consist of approximately 600
linear feet of wall to be constructed of steel piling with concrete
lagging. A 3 foot deep, 15 foot wide subchannel will be constructed
through the entire length of the channel work. The subchannel will have
2 to 1 side slopes and be lined with rock riprap. Three water lines,
nine sanitary sewer manholes and a natural gas line will be relocated.
Material excavated from the channel will be hauled to and stabilized
at an off site disposal area. The work shall also consist of associated
stabilization of side drainage and tributaries with rock riprap, CMP,
PVC or drainpipe. In addition, the work shall consist of the final
grading of the areas along side the completed channel and all related
sediment and erosion control and seeding and mulching. This project is
designated as Upper Buffalo Creek Channel located in Marion County,
West Virginia. Estimated price range is over $5,000,000. Estimated
quantities of work are: Clearing and Grubbing, 1 LS; Building and
Foundation Removal, 1 LS; Bridge Removal, 1 LS; Miscellaneous
Structures Removal, 1 LS; Fertilizer, 3,000 LB; Seed Mixtures, 340 LB;

Officer's Technical Representative, Natural Resources Conservation

will be no other pre-bid conference/ site showing. All responsible
parties may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency.
