A -- CALL FOR PRELIMINARY PROPOSALS SOL-NATL 1996. DUE 030195. POC Steven Olson, 503/725-5725. NCRI is now receiving preliminary proposals for 1996 funding. Projects will promote enviromentally responsible and socially compatible economic growth and prosperity in the coastal United States, including the Great Lakes and U.S. Territories; and will enhance the competitiveness of coastal industries by engaging partnerships to apply, evaluate, and transfer innovations in applied research and technology. Proposals are encouraged to meet national objectives in four broad program areas: seafood technology; aquaculture and fisheries; marine technology and product development; and coastal business and community economic development, including tourism and recreation. Demonstrated needs in these and other areas by applicants will be considered outside specifically identified priorities when it is clear that the economic improvement can be transferred regionally or nationally.
