Notice read carefully: The U.S. Postal Service is seeking sources to manufacture and modify Bulk Mail Center (BMC) equipment. This equipment shall be manufactured in accordance with a USPS owned set of performance drawings. Brief Description: There are fourteen (14) small BMC's in the country. Each BMC has six (6) steel slides with two to five stations that will need modification. The steel slide for each station is twelve feet wide, and on an average 23 feet long. It is inclined at a 20 degree angle to allow parcels to slide down to the operator. Because each station is next to each other, the slides are connected and can be as wide as 60 feet. Most BMC's will require removal of a tranverse conveyor and a kicker roller. Most BMC's will require removal of structural steel. Installation will include a new facing table, cull chute, shaker table, pop up gates and side steel walls from the facing table to the top of the slide. Note-This work will be required to be completed in thirteen (13) BMC's simultaneouly and the work would begin this summer. If you call this office reference slide modification. No time is allowed in our critical deployment schedule for a ``learning curve'' with BMC's. The solicitation and drawings will cost $300.00.
