The University of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory,
seeks sources with experience in treating hazardous waste water streams
with a transportable treatment unit. At a minimum sources must have a
permitted transportable treatment unit as well as qualified personnel
to operate the unit. The permit for this unit shall be per California
Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 4.5, Environmental Health
Standards for the management of hazardous waste Chapter 45
(Transportable Treatment Units and Fixed Treatment Units) Section 67450
et seq. and all other pertinent federal and state regulations related
thereto. Sources must respond to this announcement with a detailed
description of its Transportable Treatment Unit and must show evidence
of a valid, current permit per the aforementioned California Code of
Regulations. In addition, sources must state the qualifications of its
personnel that will operate the unit. The University is considering a
solicitation for treatment of hazardous waste water at LLNL with a
transportable treatment unit. The University is considering the use of
an indefinite quantity type subcontract for treatment of hazardous
waste water streams. The University has an estimated requirement of
40,000 gallons of hazardous waste water per year. The University
anticipates that this volume would require eight batch treatments with
approximately 5,000 gallons of hazardous waste water being treated per
batch. The solicitation would be for one year with two one-year
options. The University is considering a Small Business/Small
Disadvantaged Business set aside. However, the University encourages
all interested firms, regardless of size, to respond to this
announcement. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this procurement
action is 4953. The small business sizing standard applicable to this
SIC is 6,000,000 in annual sales. The University also interested in
small business with 8a status. No other definitions for small
businesses will be accepted for this announcement. A company must state
whether it is a Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business or a Large
Business. If a company has 8a status it must state this as well.
Responses must be received no later than 15 days after publication.
Firms responding to this announcement which fail to provide the
required information may not be considered for inclusion to any
resulting source list for this requirement. A pre-solicitation notice
will not be published, so all interested firms are strongly encouraged
to respond to this synopsis. Overnight deliveries shall be addressed
