J -- ASDE-3 REPAIR SERVICES POC Brent D. Foreman The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for repair services for the Airport Surface Detection Equipment 3 (ASDE-3). The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is J099. Any contract issued for this requirement will include FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services and FAR Clause 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. These services are only known to be available from Orbit Instrument Corp., 80 Cabot Court, Hauppauge, New York because the FAA does not have the necessary propriatary specification for the two electronic components to be repaired under this requirement or the required drawings, test procedures, test fixtures, test documentation or other information required to accomplish the required repairs. Other concerns that may have the ability to furnish these repair services are requested to provide to the FAA at the location stated above for evaluation as a possible source a complete repair support data package to include; component specifications and drawings (Level III), all required test procedures, test specifications, shop drawings of required test beds/fixtures, complete test parameters to be used to verify operational functions and original equipment manufacturers performance specification to be used to perform the required services. This information is required by the FAA so that a determination can be made that another source can provide the required repair services. This data, including the name and telephone number of a point of contact, shall be provided to the procuring office listed in this notice with reference made to market survey file # MKTSV-50024 within 45 calendar days from date of this publication. All responses to this market survey will be considered prior to further acquisition action by the Government. Any information received as a result of this announcement will not be provided to other contractors and will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0017)
