The General Services Administration (GSA), Public Buildings Service, National Capital Region (NCR), is seeking firms who are interested in providing quality elevator and escalator inspection services at various Government-owned and leased buildings located within NCR. The firm will be expected to provide the necessary inspections to ensure that the elevators and escalators constructed foruse by the Federal Government strictly comply with the building, han dicap and elevator safety codes in effect. All inspectors must provide proof of certification by an organization which has been accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AMSE). The elevator/escalator inspector will be responsible for performing the field inspection work. The elevator/ escalator inspector will recommend the approval/rejection of materials and workmanship, monitor safety provisions, generate list of defects and omissions and inspection reports, maintaininspection logs and records and provide certification of code compliance. The elevator/escalator inspector will also conduct progress inspections, final inspections, and follow-up inspections. Consideration for this procurement will be limited tofirms or joint ventures with consultants demonstrating cap ability to coordinate the required services in their own active production offices located within the GSA, NCR. The boundaries of the GSA, NCR consist of the District of Columbia; Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland; Arlington, Fairfax,Prince William and Loudoun Counties in Virginia; and the Cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax in Virginia.
