Lefler, 415/604-3038 NASA intends to procure a new wind tunnel cooling system and piping modifications for the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel (UPWT) complex at its Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. The purpose of this procurement is to provide new cooling coils with increased cooling capacity for the UPWT complex. The successful contractor will provide and install 44 new flat fin, circular tube cooling coils sized between 18 and 48 cubic feet apiece; and 88 new 5 inch isolation valves with associated piping and supports. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: demolition and disposal of existing cooling coils, cooling coil purchase and installation, coil support structure modifications, piping modifications, weld radiography, and performance testing. Code stamp requirements for pressure system repairs and other definitive performance criteria will be included in the solici tation. The solicitation will include liquidated damages. This project will need to be coordinated with other concurrent construction activities. The project's duration is approximately 450 days from notice to proceed.
