Elements of work include furnishing supervision, equipment, materials, labor and transportation required to provide repairs and alterations to Building E-98 at the Naval Weapons Station, Concord, CA. The Base Bid will include Demolition of existing concrete stairs, concrete footings, and existing heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; construction of new steel stair, concrete handicap ramp, concrete stairs, shear walls and footings, thermal insulation, exterior cement plaster, aluminum windows, interior wood partitions, door frames and hardware, suspended acoustical ceiling, carpet and finishes to be furnished; new air conditioning units, demolition, modification of plumbing at selected locations; replacement of existing light fixtures and receptacles; modification of existing electrical distribution system; removal of asbestos and lead from building; and painting of new exterior trim and related work. Contractor to provide temporary trailers and relocate Government personnel and equipment to the trailers; utility connections will provided by the contractor. Additive Bid item 0001AA: Provide horizontal blinds at all exterior windows, casework at kitchen area and projection screen in conference room; Additive Bid Item 0001AB: Provide a system of above ceiling cable trays for data, communication system and telephone cables. Additive Bid Item 0001AC: Provide new elevator to include; excavation for new elevator; Reinforced concrete foundations and elevator base below first floor; provide new elevator, doors, frames, and shaft walls required for service between the first and second floors. Tentative issue date of solicitation 14 Feb 1995 with a bid openig date of 21 Mar 1995. Only written request for plans and specifications will be honored. The related small business standard is $17.0 million. The resulting contract will be a lump sum firm fixed price contract. Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000.
