PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: Work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to replace the HVAC system, extend the fire sprinkler system, upgrade the fire alarm system, parking lot revisions, provide a temporary trailer, replace door hardware and remodel restrooms for handicap accessibility, sealcoat parking lot, miscellaneous carpentry, install acousticcal ceiling, replace basement lighting, electrical and plumbing work. The plans are dimensioned using International System of Units (SI) (Metric) ``soft conversion'' wherein metric equivalents are substituted for standard inch-pound measurements. The estimated price is between $250,000 and $500,000. The period of performance is 150 days. Bid documents will be available on about March 20, 1995, at the HHS/PHS/Office of Engineering Services, address listed above. The proposed contract listed herein is set aside for 100% Indian-owned, controlled, and operated firms under the authority of the Buy Indian Act. In accordance with the Public Health Service Acquisition Regulation Paragraph 380.503(e), not more than fifty (50) percent of the work to be performed under a prime contract awarded pursuant to the Buy Indian Act shall be subcontracted to other than Indian firms. For this purpose, work to be performed does not include the provision of materials, supplies, or equipment. Contractors should indicate whether they are a 100% Indian-owned and controlled firm, and their interest in bidding as a prime or subcontractor. Inadequate responses from Indian prime contractors or Indian subcontractors, or both by February 20, 1995, may cause this Indian set-aSide decision to be reconsidered.
