FORENSIC TAPE EXAMINER - EXPERT WITNESS - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for an individual with experience in enhancement of sound recordings and can qualify as an expert witness to give tesimony in court proceedings regarding such evidence. As a minimum an individual must 1) Be able to work either at the FBI Engineering Research Facility, Quantico, VA and/or at the individual's residence using government furnished equipment. 2) Possess at least a Bachelor of Science, or higher degree in physics, electrical engineering, computer science or a related field. 3) Possess at least five years experience in a law enforcement laboratory conducting forensic examinations in the tape enhancement field with signal processing procedures using computer workstations, fast Fourier transform analysis and analog and digital filters. 4) Shall have conducted forensic tape examinations and provided expert testimony that meets the highest standards of the appropriate scientific disciplines and professional societies. 5) The individual must either possess or be able to acquire a Top Secret clearance. The award will be based on the availability of funds and the continuing need of the Government. It is anticipated that as a result of this solicitation a contract will be awarded with an award year and four option years. It is estimated that (RFP) 6760 will be released approximately 2/10/95. Requests for the proposal must be in writing referencing RFP-6760, addressed to the attention of the Contracting Officer listed above and be postmarked no later than 15 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis in the CBD.
