This is a notice of intent for the Television-Audio Support Activity
(T-ASA) to place a delivery order against GSA schedule contract
GS00K94AGS6465 with Avid Technology, Inc. for one (1) each Media System
Composer model MC 1000 item number 132-8/10; consist of: Macintosh
Quadra 950 w/28MB RAM, 2MB video ram and 230MB internal hard drive, two
20-in color multi-sync monitors, 3GB magnetic hard drive, video
coprocessor, advanced JPEG compression hardware, effects module,
enhancement board, audio coprocessor board, audio A/D-D/A convertor,
dual amplified speakers, SCSI-11 accelerator board, video slave driver,
video slave driver, videomedia VLX deck control (for 2 decks), single
deck digitize/digital-cut switchbox, 9600 baud modem, colored keycaps,;
black burst generator; cable harness, and surge-protected power strips,
MC8000 ksoftware, MC8000 documentation tool set, Avid communication
software, Avid utilities software, Avid tutorial tapes; system must be
capabale of providing at least seven video resolutions from low
resolutions appropriate for off-line and/or long format applications to
60 field broadcast quality resolution, 24 video tracks for layering and
compositing, 24 virtual tracks of audio w/4 channels of both 44.1KHz
and 48 KHz audion in and out; appropriate on-line storage must be
included to provide 2 hours of broadcasting quality footage and 18
hours of off-line quality footage; removable storage in the form of
phase change optical disk drives or removable 3GB 5400 RPM hard drives
must be available as an option; system must support import and export
of pict graphics files, pict animation files, quick time,and open
media framework files; support for a wide variety of EDL's including
Sony, Ampex, Grass Valley, and CMX must be provided; Pwr Rqmts: 120
VAC, 50/60 Hz. Destination is Nellis AFB, NV. This acquisition is being
conducted under the regulatory deligation of GSA's exclusive
procurement authority for FIP resources. Interested parties are invited
to identify their interest and capability to satisfy this requirement.
Responses should be submitted within fifteen (15) days after the date
of publication of this notice and should contain price quotations and
convincing documentation (technical literature, etc.) indicating that
it is advantageous to the government, price and other factors
considered, to consider sources other than the GSA FIP schedule
identified above. A request for a solicitation document will not be
considered an affirmative response to this notice. All affirmative
written responses will be fully concidered. As a result of analyzing
responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may
determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is
issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation
will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended
schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent.
If no affirmative written responses are received within the fifteen
(15) day period, an order will be placed with Avid Technology Inc. on
their GSA FIP schedule contract GS00K94AGS6465 for the item. Interested
firms may request the solicitation document but such requests will not
be considered an affirmative response with regard to the Government's
determination to procure under a GSA FIP schedule. Facsimile number is
