(513)366-2041 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a need
for a contractor to provide and install an automated Security System at
the Gulf Breeze Environmental Research Laboratory (ERL/GB). This system
shall be used to secure the facility after normal business hours. A
card-activated gate is required to control and monitor access to and
from the facility. Card readers are required for entry and exit for a
select set of buildings. The system must also be capable of detecting
and reporting fire for a selected set of buildings. All access status
and alarm information must be stored in a central computer system and
also be available to security personnel in the guard building on a
realtime basis. Security system software and hardware must be
compatible with one of the following two existing computer platforms in
use at ERL/GB. VAX minicomputers running the VMS operating system, or
standard IBM-compatible 486 personal computers (PCs) running the MSDOS
operating system and MS Windows environment. It is anticipated that
the Government will award a Firm Fixed Price contract. It is also
anticipated that the solicitation will be issued approximately mid
