J -- OVERHAUL SERVICES FOR BAK-12 AIRCRAFT ARRESTING SYSTEMS (AAS) Contact/Contracting Officer Ms Zoe M. Sargent, 804/764-3558. The ACC Contracting Squadron at Langley AFB VA wishes to survey the market and develop a list of potential sources who are capable of providing overhaul services for fifty-six (56) BAK-12 Aircraft Arresting Systems (AAS) for Air Combat Command. All systems must be overhauled during a 24 month period beginning October 1995. The contractor shall perform complete BAK-12 absorber disassembly, component inspection (visual and liquid penetrant), hydraulic/mechanical/structural component replacement as identified in the statement of work, reassembly of the absorbers, synchronization and proof testing of the hydraulic systems and disassembly/rebuild/reinstallation of four BLISS brake assemblies per system. If contractor is not presently certified to overhaul/manufacture the BLISS brake assembly, new or completely overhauled assemblies must be procured from a certified source. In addition, all mechanical and hydraulic system replacement components must be procured from a certified source. Government furnished replacement parts will not be provided. All logistical support required to execute this contract is the responsibility of the contractor. Sources should have at least 5-years experience in the overhaul or new construction of BAK-12 AASs.
