Chavez, Contracting Officer, 617-377-2949. This project consists of the replacement of two cooling towers, the associated piping, valves, and wiring, located at building (Bldg) 1201, Hanscom AFB, MA. The principle items of work include but are not limited to: removal and disposal, off-base, of the existing cooling towers Nos. 1 and 2, and the associated piping, valves, and wiring; excavation and removal of existing underground condenser water pipes from Bldg 1201 to, and including, the above ground valves at cooling towers Nos. 1 and 2; installation, connections and trench backfill of new condenser water pipes from Bldg 1201 to, and including, the above ground valves at cooling towers Nos. 1 and 2; furnishing and installation of two new 1000 ton cooling towers at the same location where cooling towers Nos. 1 and 2 will be removed, to include all associated piping, valves, wiring, structural support steel material and connections; installation of flashing at the base and between the cells of the cooling tower to provide a weather tight enclosure under the cooling towers; and patch paving of the roadway where disturbed by the underground piping excavation in strict accordance with the technical specifications and drawings. The magnitude of this projectis between $100,000 to $250,000. This is a Firm Fixed Price contract. The period of performance is 120 days, with an exclusionary period from 15 Jun 95 to 1 Oct 95.
