Installation of two (2) 100Kw Engine Generators (E/G), one (1) each at
two (2) existing terminal doppler weather radar (TDWR) facilities. One
(1) is located at Dallas-Love Field and the other one (1) is located at
Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Texas. Work shall include the installation
of a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) 100Kw propane gas E/G, load
bank, load bank control panel, E/G transfer switch and related
electrical and mechanical equipment. Contractor is responsible for
installation of contractor furnished sheet metal enclosures including
air intake/exhaust hoods, piping to liquid-propane converter, motor
control dampers and gravity backdraft dampers, control components,
exhaust fans, various monitors, panelboards, disconnect switeches,
circuit breakers and terminal boxes and related electrical and
mechanical equipment. Estimated Price range between $25,000 and
$100,000. There will be no charge for the specifications and drawings.
The proposed procurement is unrestricted regarding business size. The
BOD is an approximate date only. The Standard Industrial
Classification Code for this procurement is 1731. For Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT) Office Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
