COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 7,1995 PSA#1297ROTARY PIN-IN-MAZE DISCRIMINATOR Sandia National Laboratories desires
to make available for commercialization a patent pending safety
component called the rotary pin-in-maze discriminator (SD 4812). The
device will find applications in areas of use control and as a safety
component whose function is to isolate vulnerable and critical elements
from accidental environments. The discriminator denies use of a system,
or access to a system, until the proper unique code is executed. Given
the incorrect code, both the maze wheel and the pin wheel lock in
position and prevent unauthorizated access and use. The mechanism can
be configured as either a single try or a multiple try device. It can
also be used as part of a lock for which multiple attempts to unlock
are not permitted. Sandia is committed to developing industrial
partnerships through a number of mechanisms including licensing of
intellectual property, cooperative research and development agreements
(CRADA's) and small business assistance programs. Industrial partners
interested in this technology commercialization opportunity should
contact Sandia's Technology Transfer Office. For additional
