The Army Research Laboratory intends to purchase computer equipment to be integrated into an existing hardware/software environment, to emulate the capability of the Tactical Endurance Synthetic Aperature Radar Ground Control Station. The equipment must be hardware level compatible with and capable of directly executing binary level computer code supplied under the Tactical Endurance Synthetic Aperature Radar Ground Control Station program. It is intended to award a contract to Sony Corporation, 16450 West Bernardo Drive, Torrance, CA 92127 -- Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(1). Market research has demonstrated that Sony is the only vendor capable of meeting the Government's minimum needs. The proposed contract action is for an item for which the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within fiften (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
