Specialist, or Janice White, Contracting Officer, 919/541-3165. The EPA
has a requirement for a non-dispersive infared remote sensing device
capable of measuring concentrations of CO, HC, NO, and CO2 in exhaust
plumes behind automobiles passing at a high volume traffice location.
The equipment shall be designed for on-site calibration, automated data
collection and storage, and unattended operation after set-up. The
automated data collection system shall be synchronized to enable the
pollutant concentrations, meterological data, and vehicle
speed/acceleration information associated with motor vehncle exhaust
mesurements to be stored together on computer storage media. The system
shall be capable of being moved to new locations. The Contractor shall
be responsible for training and demonstration of how the equipment
operates as well as maintenance and technical suport for up to one
year. The system shall be equipped with the following components:
Infared source; sensor; computer console with data storage and archival
system; license plate imaging system; meteorlogical station; vehicle
speed and acceleration system; two gasoline powered generators;
associated cables, adaptors and tripods; and application software. The
applicable Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3829. The
applicable size standard is 500 employees. Solicitations are available
on a first-come first-serve basis. Only one copy of the solicitation
shall be issed to a corporate entity regardles of the number of
requests from one or more different locations. A copy of the source
list will be provided with the solicitation. Requests for the
solicitation must be made in writing along with two self-addressed
mailing labels. All responsible parties may request a copy of the
solicitation. The estimated solicitation issue date is April 4, 1995.
