Norfolk, Detachment Washington DC has a requirement in support of the
Defense Information Processing Center. The Government intends to
purchase on a ''Brand Name or Equal'' basis the following items: nine
(9) Shiva LanRover/E Plus w eight (8) internal modems plus one year
premium support program. Minimum Salient characteristics include:
modular chassis with 8 add in slots; choice of V.32 or V.34bis internal
modems w/RJ-11 jacks; rack design must fit within 19 inch rack; 1.7''
max. height; 10''max. depth; hardware & software must be included;
tabletop & wall & rack mounting hardware must be included; supports
multi- protocol remote access; supports multi-protocol dial-in, shared
dial-out, and LAN to LAN connections over analog and digital phone
lines; remote PC, Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX user must be able to
access information on Novell NetWare, TCP/IP, AppleTalk, Lotus Notes,
LAN Manager, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT servers and IBM hosts;
must accommodate simultaneous remote Windows, DOS and Macintosh users
dialing in over IPX, TCP/IP, AppleTalk, NetBEUI and 802.2/LLC
protocols; must support remote configuration and monitoring from any
local or remote Windows PC or Machintosh using an integrated system net
manager; must be capable of being configured remotely using SMTP,
TCP/IP using a command shell, IPX, or from a management console; must
have robust network safeguards for user authentication, including
internal user lists, centralized authentication via NetWare Bindery and
Security Dynamics ACE/Server, and most hand held authentication
devices; ethernet and token-ring support must be available; licensing
to include client software distributed free of charge, unlimited number
of user names, multiple simultaneous log-ons w/single name; must
support these network protocols: LANtastic, AppleTalk, PPP and SLIP
serial protocols; must support these client platforms: DOS, Windows,
OS/2; must support these frame types: Ethernet II, Ethernet 802.2,
Ethernet SNAP; must provide thes security features: can integrate login
with NetWare's Bindery, dial back support, roaming dial back support;
must be able to be managed via local or remote Windows PC, through
SNMP, or through a command shell via TCP/IP, or from a management
console, must be supported by a premium support program including
overnight unit exchange, a toll free 800 hot line with unlimited calls,
one hour response time on telephone support. Delivery is FOB

solicitation. This solicitation is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
This will be a firm fixed price contract, and award is to be made based
upon lowest priced, technically acceptable offer. The SIC Code is 3575.
