A Justification and Approval For Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The potential contract is for the Chief of Naval Personnel, Washington, Dc for On-Call hardware maintenance services during PPM. The maintenance shall cover: quantity 2 each scan optics optical character scanner system S40 model IV basic systems with S40 transport including the following: qty 1 each magnetic tape controller; qty 1 each 9 track (1600) magnetic tape unit; qty I/O console and keyboard; qty 1 each 90 degrees scan rotation feature; qty 1 each on-line character insertion crt; qty 1 each 64k bytes central processing unit; qty 2 each 16MB disk; qty 2 each POC-57 9 track (1600BPI) magnetic tape unit; qty 2 each POC-58 phase encoder; qty 2 each POC-65 serializer; and qty 2 each microfilm.
