COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 15,1995 PSA#1303The Library of Congress, Contracts and Logistics Service, 1701
Brightseat Road, Landover, MD 20785 70 -- INTEGRATED LIBRARY SYSTEM SOFTWARE SOL IN95-12 POC Ruth R.
Nelson, Contracting Officer, 202-707-8610. The Library of Congress
intends to negotiate with IME Systems, Inc. for the UNIX-based version
of TINLIB, an integrated library system for the Parliamentary Library
of the Slovak Parliament. The TINLIB System includes the following
software: Catalog/OPAC, Serials Mgt. Acquisitions, Circulation Control,
Report Generator, Communications, Record Import/Export, and CDS/ISIS
profile. TINLIB supports the Slovak character set and provides
sorting/searching in the Slovak language and will facilitate data
exchange between the Slovak Parliamentary Library and the Czech
Parliamentary Library who already use TINLIB. TINLIB includes
conversion programs that will allow data from the CDS-ISIS format
currently in use in the Parliamentary Library to be converted easily to
a format usable by TINLIB so that cataloging that has been completed
will still be useful. The UNIX-based version of TINLIB will allow the
Parliamentary Library to make available some of its resources over the
INTERNET, which is also UNIX-based. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS
AVAILABLE. No Contract award will be made on the basis of an
offer/proposal received in response to this notice. Interested parties
that can provide an integrated library system, including all the
listed software, UNIX-based version, training,
installation/implementation and annual maintenance may contact the
Contracting Officer no later than 15 calendar days from the date of
this announcement. The response must be sufficient to permit agency
analysis to establish a bonafide capability to meet the requirements.
It is requested that pricing information, terms and conditions be
included as part of any response. (0072) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0287 19950314\70-0006.SOL)
