COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 15,1995 PSA#1303US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Division of Contracts - T-7I2, ATTN:
Linda Wise, Washington, DC 20555 A -- PALEOLIQUEFACTION STUDIES NORTHWEST OF THE NEW MADRID SEISMIC
ZONE SOL RS-RES-95-045 DUE 051295 POC Contact John Eastman,
301/415-6590/ Contracting Officer, Mary H. Mace, 301/415-7314 The NRC
requires technical assistance to investigate an area northwest of the
New Madrid Seismic Zone to establish whether or not paleoliquefaction
has occurred in that region. The objective of this procurement is to
investigate and gather information on prehistoric earthquakes. In
particular, earthquake-induced liquefaction features are of interest,
together with available means to date horizons associated with such
features, including carbon-14 methods. Other indications of
earthquakes, such as faulting, subsidence, etc. are also of interest,
but it is anticipated that a search for evidence of paleoliquefaction
would be the most promising approach towards establishing a history of
prehistoric earthquakes in this area. The estimated period of
performance is two years with 1 one-year option. Proposals for this
requirement must be submitted by all concerns, i.e., large businesses,
small businesses, and small businesses owned and controlled by
socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Notice to Large
Businesses: The subcontracting plan requirements of P.L. 95-507 are
applicable to this effort. Thus, all large businesses determined to be
in the competitive range must be prepared to submit a detailed
subcontracting plan. A source list comprising of names, addresses, and
telephone numbers of all concerns requesting a copy of the
solicitation, with large businesses identified with an asterisk, will
be provided with the solicitation. In order to identify large
businesses on the list, a request for the solicitation should indicate
the size standard of the business based upon a SIC code of 8999. The
size standard for this solicitation is average annual receipts for the
preceding three fiscal years not to exceed $3.5 million. In order to
allow small business concerns sufficient time to contact you for
possible subcontracting opportunities, you are encouraged to make your
request for the solicitation prior to the solicitation issuance date.
A copy of the solicitation and all subsequent amendments will be
provided to each requester. Interested firms should submit written
requests for RS-RES-95-045. Telephonic requests will not be honored.
