A -- TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO THE NAVY'S COMPOSITE SHROUD FRAGMENT ASSEMBLY PROGRAM SOL N00178-95-Q-1073 POC Karen L. Farrah, Contract Specialist, Code S11D, (703) 663-7478. Technical support to the Navy's Composite Shroud Fragmenting Assembly Program. The Dahlgren Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center proposes to enter into Sole Source negotiations with the University of California, San Diego, to modify Contract N60921-94-C-A149 for an additional six month effort. Additional tasks include a continuation of modal analysis on the Composite Shroud Fragment Assembly, assist in bend test analysis by assessing damage using correlated Finite Element Models, thermal studies, and development of a body bending mode model. Unique qualifications to provide this support include previous experience in the design and analysis of the Standard Missile structures which directly tie into the current system upgrade, extensive experience in the areas of composite analysis and optimization with an emphasis on the response of composite structures to dynamic and thermal loading, extensive experience in the development of computer programs to predict both the three-dimensional stress state and failure of composite materials and experience gained under N60921-94-C-A149.
