7701 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22315-3864 A -- POSITION AND AZIMUTH DETERMINING SYSTEM (PADS) POC Project
Leader, Mr. Ed Huth, (703) 355-2862. The U.S. Army Topographic
Engineering Center (TEC) is seeking potential sources as a replacement
for the Position and Azimuth Determining System (PADS): AN/USQ-70. The
U.S. Army is investigating thepossibility of replacing some or all of
the current PADS inventory using a performance specification defining
functional requirements, operating environments and interface
requirements with little or no development effort and minimum test and
evaluation. The PADS provides accurate and timely three dimenstional
position information and azimuth for use in the control of field
artillery cannon, rocket and missile fires. It is used in the field
artillery's survey subsystem to accomplish position area surveys and
limited extension of survey control networks. Any manufacturer that
wishes to receive more information concerning this program must respond
within fourteen days with a statement of interest describing the
company's technical expertise, production and marketing capabilities,
and experience producing similar equipments. Respondents should
indicate whether they are a large business, a small business, a
socially and economically disadvantaged business, or a woman-owned
business. Respond to U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center,
Topographic Equipment Office, ATTN: CETEC-PD-TE, 7701 Telegraph Road,
