salzman@lanl.gov. The University of California which operates Los
Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to he Department of
Energy (DOE), is seeking an industrial partner(s) in the field of flow
cytometry. LANL is developing a miniature flow cytometer (miniFCM) for
use in detecting and identifying microorganisms. The industrial partner
1) shall assist with the development and testing of the miniFCM, 2)
shall engineer the miniFCM to a production level, and 3) shall
establish a manufacturing capability for at least 50 units per year for
the miniFCM. Industrial partners are being sought to enter into a CRADA
(Cooperative Research and Development Agreement) or licensing
agreement. Any company interested in pursuing this opportunity or in
receiving more information should respond with a brief statement of
interest describing the company's technical expertise in the
development of biomedical instruments such as flow cytometers, and
previous technology transfer experience. The statement of interest must
be dated within 30 days from the date of this notice. A Potential
Partner Workshop presenting the miniFCM project and the
commercialization mechanisms available may be held dependent on the
