The Government intends to procure 8 AN/AVS-7 B-Kits with 1553B databus
components for the V22 Marine ''Osprey'' aircraft. The effort will
require modifying current restricted rights software in the AN/AVS-7
for V22 specific requirements and updating software documentation. The
solicitation will be issued sole source to AEL Industries, Inc., Cross
Systems Division, who is the current producer of the AN/AVS-7 system
and will be awarded as a modification to current contract
DAAB07-91-C-K002. The Government does not possess the data necessary to
acquire these systems from other than the current source. The U.S. Army
Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) has established an
Electronic Bulletin Board (EBB) to provide electronic transmittal of
Request for Proposals (RFPs) andd Invitation for Bids (IFBs) from
government to industry. EFFECTIVE 1 OCTOBER 1994, ALL SOLICITATIONS
ISSUED FROM Ft. MONMOUTH FOR ACQUISITIONS OVER THE SMALL PURCHASE
THRESHOLD WILL Be SOLICITED VIA THE EBB. AFTER 1 OCTOBER 1994, ONLY
THOSE PARTIES WHO Do NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO ACCESS THE EBB
WILL BE FORWARDED HARD COPIES UPON REQUEST. HOWEVER, As OF 1 JAN 95
HARD COPY WILL NO LONGER BE DISTRIBUTED. (Exceptions are Post, Camp and
Station Acquisitions.) All interested parties wishing to do business
with CECOM are invited to access, operate, send and receive data from
the CECOM EBB system. To become a user of the EBB you will need an
identification code and password in addition to a computer terminal
equipped with the necessary hardware and software to interface with the
EBB system. Detailed information regarding system requirements is
contained in the U.S. Army CECOM EBB User's Manual. A User's Manual,
Identification Code and Password will be issued upon request. All
requests must include 1) Company Name, 2) Point(s) of contact name(s)
and title(s), 3) return address(es), and 4) telephone number(s). Please
send your request in writing to either Mr. Thomas Newman or Mrs. Anita
