COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 29,1995 PSA#131338LS/LGCVE, 4008 Hilltop Rd Ste 111, Tinker AFB OK 73145-2713 D -- SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE/LEASE AND SYSTEM ANALYST SUPPORT FOR THE
AUTOMATIC DIGITAL WEATHER SWITCH SOL F34608- POC CONTRACTING OFFICER,
Tom G. CHAMBERLAIN, TELEPHONE (405) 734-9797. The United States Air
Force requires software for system analyst support and software
maintenance/lease for the Automatic Digital Weather Switch (ADWS)
located at Tinker AFB OK, Hickam AFB HI, and RAF Croughton UK. The
mission of the ADWS is to collect and deliver intercepted weather data
to the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC). The ADWS also
collects data from and delivers data to worldwide users in support of
flying and group operations. This also includes the collection of
Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) data for delivery to the United States NOTAM
Facility (USNF) and distribution of NOTAM products from the USNF to
worldwide users. The ADWS processors operate 24 hours per day, seven
days per week and consists of ADPE procured from Unisys Corporation
through a previous contract. The ADWS is resident on the following
suite of hardware: Unisys 1100/73 and 1100/74 mainframe computer
systems arranged in a dual configuration (one on-line and one
off-line). Each mainframe computer system consists of the processors,
peripheral equipment, and Distributed Communications Processors (DCP).
Each high speed and medium speed communications circuit is connected
to a dedicated line module on the DCP and each low speed and every
Meteorological Data System (MED) circuit is connected to a GCS cabinet.
The host processor supports the CIDE protocol, IP, TCP, FTP, and SMTP.
Protocols supported by the line modules and IOP include UNISCOPE,
UDLC, NTR, DDN standard X.25, X)25, ADCCP, and Meteorological
Environmental Data Systems (MEDS). The software required to maintain
the integrity of the system is proprietary Unisys 1100 systems
software. The major portion of the ADWS software is in Unisys META
assembler language, however, several routines are in either FORTRAN V
or ASCII FORTRAN. The requirements under this effort include furnishing
and maintaining the latest version of Unisys ADWS software inventory,
and providing specialized systems analyst support. The systems analysts
needed for this effort are required to possess very specific experience
and expertise on the equipment and proprietary software, as well as
specific skills, knowledge, and abilities at the journeyman level for
this magnitude of effort and as outlined in the specifications. This is
a sources sought synopsis to determine if anyone other than Unisys can
provide and maintain the required software. A Request for Proposal
will not be issued from this advertisement. All concerned sources
having the ability to provide this service must provide information to
indicate their capabilities in order to be approved as an additional
source. All information must be provided within 15 days of publication
of this advertisement. Sources responding to this synopsis must
indicate, in writing, whether they are large or small, disadvantaged or
women-owned business and U.S. or foreign-owned/controlled (must state
which country). (0086) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0018 19950328\D-0004.SOL)
