(303) 369-1200. The U.S. Postal Service intends to enter into a
contract for thermoformed plastic pallets and interconnective cardboard
sleeves to be used for the movement of mail. The contract term will be
for one (1) year with four (4) one-year renewal option periods. This
is a definite quantity contract. First year quantities are 14,030
plastic pallets and 29,678 cardboard sleeves. For second through 5th
year option periods, 2,897 pallets and 22,612 sleeves will be required
yearly. Additional amounts of up to 25% may be required. Plastic
pallets must be made from minimum twin sheet plastic, using High
Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic sheet material. Resin content must
be, at a minimum, formed from industry standard BA50-100 or
equivalent. The pallet must be thermoformed to the final design
configuration. Dimensions will be 40'' wide and 48'' long. Height will
be determined by design. The material used int he pallets must conform
to the specifications of USPS-P-1108B requirements for standard Postal
pallets. Copies of this requirment are available upon request.
Cardboard sleeves must be at least 1500 grade, triple wall corrugated
material, notched and designed to ''mesh'' with the pallet to form an
integral unit and must have at least 50% recycled materials content.
Sleeve size to be approximately 40'' x 48'' 38''. Additional
specifications will be available in the solicitation. Solicitation will
be available after 05/22/95. Copies of the solicitation are limited and
will be issued on a first-come, first served basis, and will be
furnished only upon receipt of a non-refundable cashier's check or
money order made payable to the ''USPS Disbursing Officer,'' in the
amount of $25.00. Requests for solicitation packages are to be
submitted to: US Postal Service, Purchasing and Materials Service
Center, 3300 South Parker Road, Suite 400, Aurora, CO 80011-3500, ATTN:
Catherine Lawson. NO telephone requests will be accepted. Interested
parties are encouraged to submit their packages by one of the methods
offered by the U.S. Postal Service (First Class, Priority, Express
Mail). A preproposal conference will be held June 8, 1995, at 3:00 PM
MST, at the above-mentioned location. All responsible sources may
