69 -- OPERATIONAL/TRAINING SUPPORT FOR BRIGADE/BATTALION BATTLE SIMULATION (BBS), CORPS BATTLE SIMULATION (CBS) AND JANUS BATTLE FOCUS TRAINERS POC Contract Specialist, Jane Waller, 407/380-4017/Contracting Officer, Mr. Larry Grauert, 407/380-4603 The Government intends to enter into a contract with Pulau Electronics Corporation, 12423 Research Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32826 for the purpose of providing, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and several OCONUS sites, Operational/Training support. Support will be for the Brigade/Battalion Battle Simulation (BBS), Corps Battle Simulation (CBS), and JANUS Battle Focus Trainer. The BBS is a VAX based system of computer equipment designed to train Brigade and Battalion commanders and staff in exercising procedures and decision making skills. CBS is a VAX based suite of computer equipment designed to run various Corps and Division-level exercises. It provides man-in-the-loop simulation which supports training of a Corps Commander, battle staff, major subordinate commands, and major subordinate elements of Headquarters of the Corp in the conduct of deep operations/Airland battle operations. The JANUS system is a Hewlett Packard computer based system designed to train platoon/company level officers in current tactics and doctrine. The level of support for all of these systems will entail, but will not be limited to, database management, exercise simulation controller functions, post exercise actions, functional area research, instruction on operation and application of simulation systems, and day to day operation and exercise requirements. A firm fixed price service contract is to be awarded to support 11 TRADOC and 2 or 3 OCONUS sites. Additional sites may be added at the request of the user community.
