F -- STABILIZATION OF LOW-LEVEL MIXED WASTE Sol. W452759. Due 061695. Contact Kelli R. Gier, 509/376-5818, Advanced Procurement Specialist. A Request for Proposal (RFP) for the stablization of Low Level Mixed Wastes (LLMW) will be issued on or about June 30, 1995. Low Level Mixed Waste contains both hazardous and radioactive constituents, and has transuranic radionuclides of less than 100 nCi/gm. The waste containers are classified as ``contact handled'' and have a surface dose rate not exceeding 200 mrem/hr (most are much lower). The Seller will receive the LLMW at the Department of Energy's Hanford Reservation near Richland, Washington, transport the waste to the Seller's facility, stabilize the waste to meet Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Land Disposal Restriction (RCRA LDR) and other applicable federal and state requirements, and return the treated waste to the Hanford Site for disposal. The RFP will also include an option for shipping waste directly from offsite generators. The wastes will be made available for shipment in drums (mostly 55 gallon) and boxes (mostly about 5.5 x 5.5 feet x 9 feet). Waste treatment must begin prior to September 1999. The RFP will be provided to all who request it. To receive a copy of the RFP, submit the following information in writing: Company name and address, proposed location of treatment, proposed stabilization process, years of actual operational experience with the proposed technology, current permitting status, and a summary of existing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for the proposed treatment facility. Closing date for submittal of information is thirty (30) calendar days after publication. WHC will not compensate any respondent for their submittal.
