COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 19,1995 PSA#1350Bureau of Land Management, SC-651B, Denver Federal Center, P.O. Box
25047, Denver, CO 80225-0047 B -- CLASS III CULTURAL INVENTORY SOL N651-RFP5-3049 DUE 071395 POC
Richard Banks, 303/969-6514. The Bureau of Land Management, Butte
District Office, proposes to exchange approximately 2,700 acres of
public land out of Federal ownership. Consequently, a Class III
cultural resource inventory will need to be conducted on those lands by
contract. The inventory area consists of isolated and scattered parcels
of public land within the Butte District's Dillon and Garnet Resource
Areas. Parcels in the Dillon Resource Area are located in Beaverhead
and Madison counties, those in the Garnet Resource Area are located in
Granite and Powell counties. The inventory will be conducted in areas
which likely contain historic mining districts. In general, site
evaluations should be conducted within the context of 36 CFR 800 and
appropriate supplemental guidance. The survey is being conducted to
comply with the Crow Boundary Settlement Act of 1994. This Act
obligates the Secretary of the Interior to resolve all claims held by
the Crow Tribe with respect to the 107th meridian reservation boundary
dispute. In fulfillment of this obligation, the Secretary has directed
the BLM to identify parcels of public land which may be exchanged for
State owned and privately owned parcels of land located within the
boundaries of the Crow Reservation. Once such parcels are obtained by
BLM, ownership will be transferred to the Crow Tribe in order to
resolve their claims. Written request only. See Note 1. All responsible
sources may submit an offer which will be considered. (0137) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0014 19950518\B-0001.SOL)
