(202)219-4553. As a matter of policy, the office of Job Corps
encourages competition and seeks to afford the opportunity to compete
for contracts to operate Job Corps centers, and/or to provide
outreach/screening and placement services, to as many new potential
offerors as possible, hereafter referred to as ``Firms''.To that end,
the Office of Job Corps has developed a multi-step process for keeping
the contractor community informed and involved in the Job Corps
program. Following is a brief description of this multi-step process.
1) The National Director and the 9 Regional Directors/Contracting
Officers are available and open to discussions regarding program
content and the procurement process. To arrange an appointment,

An orientation session for Firms with the capability to operate a Job
Corps center (SIC 8744) and/or to provide outreach/screening and
placement services (SIC 8331) will be held periodically. The session
will cover the Job Corps procurement process, program content, a cost
proposal preparation seminar, and may include a tour of a local Job
Corps center. The third scheduled orientation session will be held from
August 21 - 25, 1995 in Washington, D.C.. All participants must
register in advance and slots per organization may be limited. The

and should be contacted no later than July 15 for reservations. 3)
Interested firms may request, in writing, to receive copies of certain
Job Corps publications, reports, etc. These issuances include the
Training Resources Catalogue (published periodically), 5 year center
Procurement Schedule (annual), performance standards reports (monthly),
Job Corps Update (periodic newsletter), Job Corps in Brief (annual),
Center Directory (annual), and Policy and Requirements Handbook updates
(sporadic). All requests to receive these materials must be made to
Sandra Darden at the Office of Job Corps, 200 Constitution Ave. N.W.,
Room N-4510, Washington, D.C. 20210. Requests to remain on the mailing
list must be reconfirmed by June 30 of each succeeding year. 4)
Reservations will be made available for interested parties who are not
incumbent Job Corps operations at certain conferences. These will
include the National Job Corps Leadership Conference (not scheduled
until 1995/96) and selected conferences/meetings designed for
disseminating new program information. The availability of such
meeting/conferences will be announced in the Job Corps Update
publication. 5) During each competitive procurement cycle for center
operations, pre-proposal conferences are held which include detailed
tours of the center under competition. For those parties interested in
general information tours, each of the Job Corps centers holds an
occasional Open House and conducts tours for the general public.
