States Postal Service is seeking information in the form of a Request
for Information (RFI) from vendors on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)
products that will provide the functionality of an air cargo movement
system which can be used as a basis for a reservation system for the
transportation of mail on scheduled commercial air carriers. The
application is intended to suport postal operations personnel in the
planning and movement of mail transported by air. The system should
support optimization planning and rescheduling flights due to weather
or mechanical problems. The system should also be able to track loads
by flight leg as the use of available commerical air capacity,
eliminate flight and facility overloads, and improive the service of
mail transported by commercial air carriers. This RFI is not a
solicitation; however, vendors that respond will be informed in the
event a solicitation is conducted. The response to this RFI should
describe the available product, the degree of customization required to
meet the general requirements, provide three references and the number
of porducts sold, the technical architecture of the product. Send all
