The Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration's (Western's) Sacramento Area Office, intends to procure a large screen projection display system which shall be used as a dynamic mapboard system driven from a high performance Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition/Energy Management System (SCADA/EMS) computer system. The physical space available for the projection display screen is 48 feet wide by up to 17 feet deep with a ceiling height of about 13 feet 4 inches. The dynamic large screen projection display system shall include the following major components: 1) the large-screen display (LSD) server that interfaces the multiple large-screen projectors with the SCADA/EMS and drives the multiple projectors with X window graphical data displays that are updated from the SCADA/EMS (offerors will be required to demonstrate the performance of the large screen display server interfaced to Western provided client software); 2) multiple high-resolution large-screen projectors that display the dynamic images; 3) the viewing screen wall that consists of multiple projection screens arranged in front of the dispatcher's console; 4) a video/audio matrix switch with audio follow through capabilities to route multiple S-Video and NTSC signals to any of the four designated projectors. The contractor shall also provide installation, on-site installation engineering services, and on-site training. Required delivery is nine months after award of contract, FOB destination, Folsom, CA. This acquisition is unrestricted. The solicitation is scheduled for issuance on or about July 20, 1995. All responsible offerors may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
