Title and number of pages of the notified document: Proposed Amendment to the Food and Drug Regulations (pages 1521-1532). 6. Description of content: Foods for use in weight reduction diets. The current Food and Drug Regulations restrict the representation or sale of foods for weight reduction diets to ``meal replacements'' and ``prepackaged meals'' as defined in Divison 24 (Foods for Special Dietary Use). It is proposed to update the compositional requirements for these products to reflect the current nutrition recommendations of Health Canada. In addition, the proposal would broaden the range of products allowed to be represented or sold for weight reduction diets to include foods sold at weight loss clinics. 7.
