The Dept. of Energy (DOE) intends to enter into negotiations on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Diversified Scientific Services Incorporated (DSSI) for the treatment and disposal of an unknown quantity of liquid low-level mixed waste containing special nuclear material and tritium. DOE at MOUND (Miamisburg, OH) has approximately 130 drums of varying sizes containing different quantities of waste oils and approximately 1500 gallons of scintillation cocktails which require treatment and disposal. Because of the nature of the waste, treatment must be by means of incineration before disposal, and DSSI has the unique ability and required licenses and permits to perform this type of work. The solicitation will be issued on or about June 16, 1995. Period of performance is approximately 6 months from date of award. See Note 22. (166)
