Contracting Officer, Charlene Webster, (816)922-2062 Provide all labor,
materials, equipment, transportation & supervision necessary to
Sprinkler Patient Building, F&S in accordance with the specifications
& drawings at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Kansas
City, MO. Work may include but is not limited to: Revise the existing
fire protection fire main; new backflow preventers and main
modifications within the building; new sprinkler systems in all areas
that currently are non-sprinkled; revise or replace existing
sprinklers; remove existing 1 1/2'' hose valves & racks; replace
existing primary power feed to the fire pump; modify existing fire
alarm system by changing the existing multiplex system to a Notifier
Net; provide new Notifier Fire Alarm panels; remove fire alarm system
circuitry & revise programming for the waterflow switches and valve
tamper switches; add some circuitry and programming; remove duct &
smoke detectors, remove circuitry, and revise programming; disconnect
power & remove damper moters & vanes; provide local control circuitry
for air handler shutdown from new & existing duct detectors; remove &
replace ceilings, replace lights, & modify duct work and grilles;
repair or abate asbestos; and repair or abate damaged or friable
asbestos discovered above previously non-accessed plaster ceilings. SIC
Code is 1799. The work will be awarded to a single contractor as a firm
fixed price contract with the possiblity of constructing in 3 phases.
Cost range is between $1,000,000 & $2,000,000. Contract award is
subject to availability of funds. Request for solicitation must be in
writing with a refundable deposit of $100. Issue date is on or about
