99 -- FLYING JUNIOR SAILING DINGHY FLEET AT THE U.S. COAST GUARD ACADEMY; REPLACEMENT OF SOL DTCG39-95-R-QFU029 DUE 073195 POC Contact Joyce Petrini, Contract Specialist, 203-444-8242, FAX 203-444-8299 The Sailing and Seamanship Branch of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy intends to negotiate with Vanguard Racing Sailboats of Warren, RI to acquire services to replace its Flying Junior Sailing Dinghy Fleet. The current fleet consists of thirty (30) 1986 Vanguard Club/Collegiate dinghies. The Academy plans to trade-in between twenty (20) and thirty (30) current 1986 dinghies for a credit towards the purchase of between twenty (20) and thirty (30) Vanguard Racing Sailboats, Inc., Club/Collegiate Flying Junior Sailing Dinghies complete less sails. The Flying Junior is the standard boat used for intercollegiate compeititon. The Flying Junior is the boat owned by a majority of the academies, colleges and universities who compete in intercollegiate competition and who host all of the regattas that the cadet teams compete in. It is intended that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded. See Note 22. (0172)
