The work shall consist of, but is not limited to 1) Demolition of portions of the existing building including certain finishes, toilet fixtures, and light fixtures, 2) Replacement of the existing HVAC system with a new 4-pipe system with individual fan-coil units for each room, 3) Replacement of the existing building entrance vestibule with a new canopy, vestibule, and electric doors, 4) Architectural imporvements in the existing building including Replacement of windows, replacement of all wall covering, replacement of toilet room ceramic tile, replacement of carpet, painting throughout, replacement of stairwell bases and handrails, and the second level floor will be repaired to minimize squeaks, 5) Partial demolition of existing building roof overhangs/roofing, 6) Provide general construction including wood roof structure, 7) Provide extension of electrical system and mechanical system components located on existing roof, 8) Clean site of construction debris. This is a firm, fixed-price contract. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The performance period will be 270 days. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify our office, in writing, of their intention to bid on the project as a prime contractor as early as possible, but no later than 17 Jul 95. This notification must include a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds, and specific information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of this complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning management experience in similar work and financial status should be submitted with references. Only mail or facsimile requests for bid packages will be accepted.
