Information Technology Services (ITS) of the Library of Congress is requesting information describing currently available, or soon to be available, high capacity, high performance hierarchical storage management software configurable for use with multiple IBM RS/6000 AIX based servers. Information is requested for those software products that scale in capacity from one terabyte of data storage up to at least multiple pedabytes of data storage. The information provided should detail fully the software's supported server host specifications and requirements, its minimum and maximum data storage capacities and any applicable scaling paths, its SCSI host connection capabilities, its network connection capabilities, its data migration and caching mechanisms and features, its built-in continuous operation high availability features, its storage pool specifications, its supported storage and robotic library devices, its administrative tools and utilities, and all its related costs. This notice is not a request for proposal. Firms that can provide the system described above are encouraged to submit the information requested in writing (original and one copy) to Melissa Stevenski.
