Information Technology Services (ITS) of the Library of Congress is requesting information describing currently available, or soon to be available, high capacity, high performance robotic tape libraries. Appropriate libraries must be configurable for direct attachement to an IBM RS/6000 server. Information is reqested for those robotic tape library products that scale in capacity from one terabyte of data storage up to at least fifty terabytes of data storage. The information provided should detail fully the robotic library's tape device(s) specifications, the library's minimum and maximum data storage capacities and its scaling paths, its performance specifications in terms of volume access times and data read/write times, its SCSI host connection capabilities, its data caching features, its built-in continuous operation and high availability features, and all its related costs. This notice is not a request for proposal. Firms that can provide the system described above are encouraged to submit the information requested in writing (original and one copy) to Melissa Stevenski.
