COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 29,1995 PSA#1378MAKING THE CONNECTION: ELECTRONIC COMMERCE IN THE GOVERNMENT
MARKETPLACE Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) Centers across the
state of Pennsylvania are co-sponsoring a practical, hands-on
conference detailing current initiatives affecting Electronic Commerce
and Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI). This two-day event will be
held on July 18-19, 1995, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at the Wildwood
Conference Center on the campus of the Harrisburg Area Community
College. In addition to hands-on training at the college's modern
computer labs, representatives from major buying agencies, such as the
Defense Industrial Supply Center, Defense Personnel Support Center,
General Services Administration, Navy Ships Parts Control Center, and
others, will discuss the status of EDI at their respective procurement
offices. Through a special arrangement with a DoD-certified Value
Added Network (VAN), attendees will be given the opportunity to
complete a Trading Partner Profile (838 transaction) and register with
the federal government electronically. The cost for this two-day event
