to 102 Military Family Housing Units on Charleston AFB, SC. Estimated
between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance time is 322 days. Work
consists of, but is not limited to the following major items of work
and are listed for the Contractor's convenience in order that he may
determine the general scope of work involved. 1. Demolition:a. Remove
existing concrete slab, gypsum wall board, trim, cabinets, and
countertops in areas requiring new plumbing work. Save cabinets and
countertops for reuse. b. Remove existing floor finishes and shoe
molding in entire room where slab demolition occurs. c. Remove existing
exterior storm doors; save for reuse. d. Remove and dispose of existing
exterior entrance doors, including frame, casing, and hardware; and
exterior storage room doors. e. Disconnect plumbing fixtures from
existing under slab water supply lines and DWVsystem. f. Remove
existing attic stair unit. 2. New Construction: a. Provide new water
supply lines replacing those abandoned under the slab. b. Provide new
DWV system. c. Install and reconnect existing fixtures. d. Provide new
concrete slabs in areas previously demolished, with floor finishes and
shoe molding to match those removed. e. Provide new gypsum wall board
and wood trim in affected areas. Provide paint and tile finishes. f.
Install existing cabinets and countertops in affected areas. g. Provide
new exterior entrance doors, frames, casings, with paint finish; and
hardware. h. Install existing storm doors on new entrance door frames.
i. Provide new exterior doors at storage rooms, withpaint finish; and
hardware. j. Provide new attic stair unit, trim, and paint finish.
Work is to be performed at Charleston Air Force Base, SC. The
solicitation will be issued as unrestricted but may be considered 100%
set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested
SDB concerns should as early as possible, but no later than 15 days of
this notice, indicate interest in the acquisition by providing to the
contracting office evidence of capability to perform, including
references and points of contact for similar type work (SIC Code) in
this dollar magnitude, and a positive statement of eligibility as a
socially and economically disadvantaged business concern. If adequate
interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be
issued as unrestricted without further notice. Therefore, replies to
this notice are requested from all business concerns as well as SDB
