636-4367 Potential source sought. The Coast Guard is seeking qualified
sources that can provide various parts, for Paxman engine, model number
16RP200M. Technical data and/or dwgs pertaining to the parts are not
available within the Government. It is the Government's belief that the
items required can only be obtained from Paxman Diesel LTD, and their
three authorized distributors, Paxman Diesel USA, Chand Corporation,
and Logtech Corporation to ensure the proper form, fit and function of
all components. However, other organizations having the expertise and
required capabilities to provide equilavent parts are invited to
submit complete information discussing their capabilities as follows:
(i.e., salient physical, functional and serviceability,
characteristics) 1) Show that they have satisfactorily manufactured the
part for the government or the prime equipment manufacturer; or 2)
submit complete and current engineering data comparing the offered
parts to the OEM's to demonstrate the acceptability of the parts.
Organizations having the capabilities and expertise required are
invited to submit complete detailed information discussing their
capabilities in duplicate within fifteen (15) days of this
announcement. No cost or pricing data is required. This is not a
Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for
the information solicited. Responses must be concise and be
specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Concerns that
respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet
the requirements. Adequate detailed data by which to evaluate
capabilities should be sent to the attention of Nancy M. Fogg,
Contracting Officer (Code 3110/59). This notice is for information
purposes for minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
information and applicable forms concerning the STLP call the OSDBU at
