POC: Betty Morris ext.234 The NWS plans to issue these solicitations to perform the augmentation of the ASOS, backup of essential elements of the ASOS and the data continuity program at various weather service contract offices. The successful contractor will be required to provide NWS certified ASOS cooperators to augment and backup essential elements of ASOS on a continuous basis, 24)hours daily. The augmentor program consists of manually adding data to an automated surface weather observation program that is beyond the observing capability of ASOS. The backup program consists of evaluating and reportingdata normally evaluated and reported by ASOS. The data continuity program consists of recording data at each six)hourly observation(Midnight, 6AM, Noon, 6PM). Due to uncertainty of funding, the initial base period is undetermined at this time. Check eachsolicitation for base period months. An amendment may be necessary to change initial base period. The contract will contain optionsto extend performance for two consecutive 12) month periods. The total duration of the contract may not exceed thirty)six months.
