(415)794-6155. The contractor shall provide all the labor, material,
equipment, supplies, etc., necessary to complete the HVAC System
Replacement at the Bakersfield, CA Downtown Station. The Exterior work
includes removal of 3 existing roof mounted evaporative coolers and
exposed ducts. Abandonment in place of existing gas boiler.
Installation of 1 three ton, 2 ten ton and 2 twelve and a half ton roof
mounted package HVAC units, including mechanical platforms and
concealed ducts. Sawcut and removal of existing concrete roof slab for
duct penetrations will be required. Interior work includes
installation of suspended acoustical ceiling, replacement of existing
pendant light fixtures and relocation of 7 ceiling fans. Basement work
includes the installation of 2 two and a half ton split system heat
pumps with exposed ducts, and installation of 800 amp electrical
service for power to the mechanical units and the existing electrical
system. Facility must remain in operation through out construction. The
successful offeror will be chosen based upon the offer having the
greatest net benefit to the Postal Service with the cost being the
predominant consideration. The estimate cost range is between $180,000
and $220,000. Solicitation packages will be available July 5, 1995.
There will be a $20.00 non-refundable charge for the solicitation.
Requests must specify the solicitation number and be made payable to
the ''USPS Disbursing Officer'' and mailed to: San Bruno Facilities
Service Office, Attn: Tina Valdez, 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA
94099-0310. This is a government owned facility. Requests for the
solicitation must be in writing - no telephone request will be
accepted. Determination of Responsibility will be based on the
following factors: (1) Experience in construction and satisfactory
completion of projects of similar complexity with 5 years minimum
construction experience and a minimum of 5 projects of comparable size,
scope and cost; (2) Firm's capacity to accomplish the work in the
required time; (3) Positive references from past clients; (4) Past
performance - projects were completed on-time and on-budget; (5)
Submittal ofa copy to the contractor's license as a heating,
ventilating and air conditioning contractor, or other suitable evidence
of the contractor's licensing as an HVAC contractor in the State of
California. Contractor must be able to perform on the site, with its
own organization, work equivalent to at least 12 percent of the total
amount of work to be performed under the contract. Offers will not be
publicly opened. Offerors are encouraged to submit proposals via U S
Postal Service First Class or Express Mail. The number of offers
received, identity of offerors, amount of any one offer, or relative
standing of offerors will not be disclosed until after award of a
