Social Security Administration (SSA) has a need for a contractor to
produce nearly l,700 color copies of the Agency's official seal. The
Government will furnish a camera copy of the seal design with a color
layout. An encapsulated Postscript disk containing a digitized version
of the seal may also be provided. The seals, which shall be produced
in plastic butyrate, shall be 15 inches in diameter, and shall be foam
filled with a cardboard back and a 1'' picture hook affixed to the
back of the seal. Lettering shall be in Trump Medieval type font.
Coloring shall be Pantone Matching System (PMS) blue #286, and red
#186, with opaque white for the background. The contractor shall be
required to provide a First Article sample copy of the seal for Agency
approval prior to complete production of all seals. Using
Agency-furnished mailing labels, the contractor shall be required to
mail all seals to the point of destination, which will include
locations within the continental U.S., Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii,
Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Mailings shall also include an Agency-furnished transmittal letter.
There will be approximately 1,584 individual addresses and 1 bulk
mailing. The contractor shall be required to furnish the packaging. See
Numbered Note 1. The IFB is scheduled for release on or about July 24,
1995, with bids due thirty days thereafter. Requests for the
solicitation should be received no later than 20 days after the date of
this publication. Requests received after this time will be filled on
a first-come, first-served basis consistent with supply. No telephone
requests will be honored. The solicitation will be available for
download in electronic form on the SSA Acquisition Data and Information
Exchange (SADIE) Bulletin Board System. Dial (410) 966-4889 within the
